Unconscious Bias and Finding your Voice to Combat Bias

Dr. Amy J. Moll holds a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana IL (1987), and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (1992, 1994).

With experience at Hewlett Packard, she joined Boise State University in 2000, becoming a co-founder of its Materials Science and Engineering department and serving as the first department chair from 2004-2008. Serving as Dean of the College of Engineering (2011-2017) and Associate Director of the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (2017-2019), she initiated the Engineering Plus program in 2018 and served as Program Director through 2023. Since 2021, she has served as the Director of the Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering

Amy especially enjoys teaching Introduction to Engineering and Introduction to Materials Science and Engineering courses as well as engineering outreach activities. Her research interests include microelectronic packaging, advanced manufacturing, MEMs, and engineering education. She has raised four puppies for Canine Companions for Independence. Although she once met a President of the United States, her dogs are more famous than she is.

Wendy Waudby is a resourceful and results-oriented engineer with experience in water and wastewater energy efficiency, treatment plant design, wastewater reuse, and wastewater financial management. She is an innovative engineer highly valued for her ability to convey technical requirements and solve complex problems with a positive approach, integrity, and professionalism.

Chris is a seasoned presenter and licensed Professional Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the private sector. He presently leads Actalent’s distribution practice in the West, responsible for execution of utility-scale distribution design and business development. His current clients include Puget Sound Energy, Avista, Portland Gas & Electric, and NV Energy. Holding an MBA from Colorado State University, he is also a LEED AP (BD+C) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). In addition to his practical expertise, Chris teaches a course at Boise State University focusing on Engineering Economics. In previous engagements, he handled multi-million-dollar project contract execution and negotiation, as well as engineering project execution and business development across the US and overseas.
